I'm gathering a group of folks who want to know the facts about how plant medicine can turn their anxiety, depression or inner blockages into their superpower. You can sign up for free HERE
SOOOOOO 420 falls in alignment with the Easter holiday this year and I’ve got a little secret to tell.
Cannabis and sound baths healed my nervous system and relieved me of over 35 years of chronic intestinal blockages, anxiety, severe acne and inner fear.
Cannabis Sativa, as a matter of fact.
Did you know there are strains of weed? Simply put, there are ones that make you feel happy/giggly and ones that put you to sleep. I used the joints (literally) that spark creativity and relaxation.
It was March 2020, and for the first time in my life, I didn’t have a thing to do. Everything was taken care of. My salon was shut down, and there was no 30-day rotation of bills and ills, so I could just chill. At the time, I owned my own personal one acre rainforest with a top-floor, 300-square-foot screened-in back porch perched high in the trees. It's was a perfect spring cannabis mindful retreat. (one I will be offering to you soon)
When we all thought the shutdown would last 2 weeks, maybe a month, I thought the shutdown was a prayer of a sabbatical answered. I was beyond exhausted. A sound-healing mentee of mine would come over and ask if I’d like to take a puff. I wasn’t a smoker. My friends and colleagues were Harvard, Stanford, Emory, Spelman and Duke grads. Overachievers don’t smoke weed…it makes you forgetful and dumb, right?
Wrong
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) plays a major role in regulating mood, pain, and stress responses. THC—the famous cannabinoid found in cannabis—binds directly to CB1 and CB2 receptors, promoting relaxation, neuroprotection, and even nerve regeneration.
The Data Speaks:
Stress Relief: A 2021 study found that low doses of THC reduced stress levels by 20-30% in participants.
Pain Reduction: Research shows that cannabis use is associated with a 64% reduction in opioid use for chronic pain patients. In fact, some studies indicate that THC interacts with pain receptors in a way that enhances the body's natural pain-fighting mechanisms, reducing the need for pharmaceutical intervention
Neuroprotection: Studies suggest that THC may help slow neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s by reducing beta-amyloid plaque buildup in the brain.
Nerve Regeneration: THC has been shown to encourage neurogenesis, the growth of new brain cells—yes, really! Beyond that, it may also aid in repairing damaged nerve tissues, which could have promising implications for individuals suffering from nerve injuries or conditions like neuropathy.
But wait Honey, there’s more! THC also plays a role in improving sleep quality, another crucial factor in nervous system health. Studies suggest that THC can help regulate sleep cycles, reduce REM disturbances, and promote deeper, more restorative rest—because sometimes, Ok, ALL THE TIME, the best healing happens while you sleep.
In about a week, I'm gonna host a Zoom for visionary leaders, who have traditionally strayed from plant medicine because its taboo or you have only used it “recreationally”. We will be able to freely discuss all things cannabis, transformation, the law, the medicinal effects and healing. What I’ve learned in graduate school is that plant medicine is highly sought after by professionals of all calibers and has been used by therapists and clinicians for decades but is taboo to the general public because of…drum rolllllll…capitolism and racism.
Cannabis is a naturally growing plant (like camomile or dandelion) that is a healer, and the medical system and government know it. Yet, they are still promoting it as a party drug for lazy people.
Its NOT
Consider the natural power of THC. Whether it's through edibles, tinctures, or traditional flower, incorporating THC into your wellness routine could provide the relief and restoration your nervous system craves and the transformation your spirit needs. More on this in the meet-up!
